If you think the Internet gross out out for a little bit and every site you went to was down , you ’re not alone . Major websites were down : CNN , Huffington Post , ESPN , Gawker , The Washington Post , BuzzFeed , etc . were all broken . Why ? Because of a glitch with Facebook .

developer at Gawker said that the glitch started with Facebook Connect , essentially any site that had a Facebook Like button on it was borked . Why ? Because the hemipterous insect would incorrectly redirect those sites to Facebook which would result in an error page . The only way to prevent the cyberspace from dying on your computing machine was to lumber out of Facebook ( since Facebook ’s Like button is everywhere ) . But the truth is , how many people even actualise they ’re log into Facebook ? Or Google . Or Twitter . Or whatever . Everything unite on the cyberspace , even if you do n’t see it .

If you were n’t logged into Facebook or if you do n’t use Facebook at all ( gasp ! shriek ! disc screaming to a halt ! save the woman and children ! ) , you in all probability did n’t even observe a problem on the Internet . unspoilt for you ! fortunately , Facebook bewitch winding of the trouble for the rest of us and has fixed the issue . Still , it ’s a footling snatch scary to think that one measly Like button can destroy the entire Internet , is n’t it ?
