With the G1officially launch today , so is the Android Market , where you ’ll be grabbing most of that open root app goodness . There good news on the app front is that stuff will start teem in on Monday when devs outside of the particular Google - y few can start uploading their apps . And they ’ll all be free until next year . But that ’s also kind of bad . No paid apps until next year stand for that the app selection is in spades going to be more circumscribed . The real wave of games and other premium - spirit level apps from established companies wo n’t lead off until they can pick up your $ $ $ , so the picking are unquestionably going to be slimmer than we ’d like for the first couple months , which is kind of an issue with a speech sound whosepower mostly rests with developer . This is n’t to say there wo n’t be great free apps in the meanwhile . There will be . But we do n’t want to have to wait for the great pay ones , either . On the other deal , Google ’s terms for devs are pretty comme il faut , so it should promote development : Devs keep 70 percent , the other 30 percentage goes to carriers and billing fee — Google is n’t train a cut . Hopefully these supererogatory months will give them sentence to polish their apps and make them even awesomer . [ Android Blog ]
