Stargate Universe ’s finale is only a few sequence away , and already actor David Blue need you to be prepared for the next big twist . In our exclusive interview , Blue talks Eli ’s journey , Destiny ’s golem and raw foreign terror .
For me , personally , it seems like Eli has really been fail to a much darker place as of late . Even after he forgive Chloe for her treason , it feels like that never really left him . Where is Eli mentally decently now , and am I totally off - al-Qaeda with this assumption ?
Yeah I ’m glad you watch that , it ’s really dependable . I cogitate you touched right on it . Eli come from a place , when we started , of isolation . He exist in front of his computer he consider charge of his mom . And then he got sop up into this world . At first it was crazy , exciting and fun , then people set about to die almost everyday . And that takes a toll on a person . Then on top of that it ’s no longer about Eli just take to take care of himself — he needs to save other people . And at the end of the day you ’re stuck with these masses . So even the one you detest and the ones you lie with , you have to put up with them everyday . Relationships are convert , what do you do when someone you do n’t swear is in flush of your life ?
I do n’t know if I agree that it ’s a dark alteration , I think it ’s a more realistic change . Sorry to not be morbid . That ’s the room the earthly concern is , you ’re constantly reevaluating things everyday . The way we ’re going into the last two episodes for time of year 1.5 you ’ll really see that everyone has to grow . Scott is somebody who needs to learn how to be a overtop officer . He needs to learn how to be creditworthy , not just be a trainee or a recent graduate . He ’s now in charge of a lot of citizenry along with Young , who was n’t even say to be there . But now [ Young ] has 60 - 70 multitude ’s life in his hired man . They have to be ready for the test . Rush , all he require were the hoi polloi who were giving him the tools he call for to make a difference of opinion . And now he has to determine if he ’s even unforced to lay aside those the great unwashed anymore .
As for Eli , he was add in to facilitate . He in all likelihood would n’t have even been allowed to go [ on Destiny ] in the first space . The affair I jazz about Eli , as opposed to everyone else , everyone else has this “ I ’m not conjecture to be here ” touch . I finger like with Eli from 24-hour interval one he said , “ this is awesome I ’m here . ” Now he ’s starting to realize the weight of being there . He ’s realize that this is significant and dangerous . I think that ’s where the growth is coming from . He ’s starting to grow into his role , he ’s starting to accept thing , and bring in that he has to be part of it . He ca n’t permit the world bump him anymore , he has to effect the existence .
Do you feel like your character does n’t get enough respect on the show , and will that change ? The last few episode , he was getting hassle a draw for some of his decisions when he was attempt to save people .
I kind of feel that and it ’s decidedly on its way to changing for sure peculiarly in the two concluding episodes . The truth is Eli is a very smart guy , with astrophysics , quantum physics but these are all things he has n’t had to lend oneself , so it acquire him awhile . Especially since he learn ancient in episode one . He ’s on a slightly slow curved shape than everyone else , the difference being he pick up thing quicker . So in their eye it make gumption that they would n’t believe him right away because in their eyes he ’s just a kid who stumble into this world … .I mean what Rush said in Human is very telling . But the thing is he does n’t have Rush ’s experience . If you gave Eli the benefits that Rush had , I think he would surpass Rush .
Do you feel pressure to be the comic relief on such a blue show ?
I do n’t , because everyone in the cast is so odd . The braggart clown is either Louie or Jamil [ Young and Greer ] . They are absolute goofball , and they are a lot of fun to be around . We have it off to make each other laugh on solidification . I sense like it lease some of the air pressure by . To be able-bodied to have so much fun — I feel like that deport over to the filming , a small bit . I think if anyone is missing a comedic side to the show , and I do n’t guess a lot of people are , but if anyone is it ’s inauspicious because you ca n’t shoot too much humor into the spot . It ’s not a position where O’Neil and Carter can take the solar day off and sit around in the kettle of fish . It ’s not a office where you may have Rodney joking around . It ’s a home where people are dying every daylight . No one want to be there , everyone is scared to last . If we had too many masses tend around joking , it would feel forced . It would seem fake in our show . It would be harder to fit . I bang taking on the mantle , because I think that some of the most healthy multitude in the creation are some of the funniest citizenry , that ’s where you happen the humor in the world when you ’re smart enough to clear where it is . So I have a tidy sum of fun doing it . I think they are really funny in what they drop a line … I also consider Brody , as dry as he is , he ’s a uproarious fictitious character .
How much sentence in the next season are we endure to spend exploring the ship , figure out the day - to - day lifespan on Destiny ?
go into the next three or four instalment some really of import elephantine thing happen to us and because of us . In season 2 you will start to learn more about the ship itself . We ’ll see some amazing new places on it , and in the population that we ’re around . But so much hooey happen in the next few episodes including the time of year conclusion , which I will justify for the right way now , because I love it , but you ’re extend to be call at your television . It ’s so attractively done but it ’s so , draining where its leftfield . That everyone is blend to hate that we ’re on hiatus . But it ’s a really great and horrifying stead to leave the show at the same prison term . I ’ll say this time of year 2 is about explore more of the ship , more of ourselves and more of why we ’re there .
How much influence will the Lucian Race have on the 2nd season ?
A honorable amount . It ’s kind of the reasonableness that we ’re all there , when you think about it . It ’s because of them that we have where we ’re going . It ’s because of them we had to go so chop-chop . They are a huge influence . It ’s going to prod things a bit in directions you were n’t expecting . I care I could peach more without muff it . Rhona Mitra , is lovely , I can say that . I do have to turn to some people ’s concern , because I be intimate masses love to ascertain thing to hate ; The Lucian Alliance is n’t as tame as some people seem to think . We ’ve only get word them a little bit and we do n’t really know what they ’ve been up to . They might not have god - like powers like the Goa’uld , but trust me they are pretty freaking terrifying in their own way .

Yes and no . There ’s so much other stuff conk on , as I say , that it ’s hard to focus on that . Not in the time that they ’re going to want it . It is a true thing that fall out , I know because even my Father asked me about this . You ca n’t dial the ship when the ship is in FTL . So the fact that it fell out of FTL provide us to dial . That ’s just the fashion it was , we were golden to have that explosion happen . It was the only thing that really saved us or we would have end up like Swiss Family Robinson up in the trees somewhere , endure on our own . But as far as seeing entire episodes flash back to what happened , I ca n’t verbalize to .
Also will we be memorise more about the repair robot that was come upon ? Are there more robots , is there more to this robot ?
