The revival of retro toys based on the activeness number of past is perhaps at its height the right way now — but one country where most occupation are slip up is in the decided lack of retro playsets . Figures Toy Company is alter that with their business of retro DC natural action figures though , and it ’s off to a dandy start .
anatomy have been putting out 8 - inch retro toy based on the Greco-Roman Batman TV show and DC ’s Justice League Mego figure for a while now , but these two new playsets are their first effort at embolden the honest-to-goodness - school cardboard cutout playsets or “ deluxe ” fomite sets , and they look dandy :
Well , technically only one is a playset : Batman is getting a recreation of the classic mego Batcave from the 1970 ’s , a monumental 15″ x 15″ x 11″ composition board reproduction completely with a flashing Bat Signal for you to mess up around with . Aquaman though … well , he gets himself and a Giant Plastic Shark to fight back and/or commune with . Poor guy .

This is on the button what I want from all these new - but - retro - again toylines : so few are just doing the gaudy , tiny figures , and forgetting that just as much appeal was getting these elaborate vehicle and playsets to diddle with them all . There ’s just as much nostalgia in them than there is in the figures , and it ’s eventually courteous to see a company putting some out .
The Batcave and Aquaman vs. The Great White Shark do n’t have toll just yet , but they ’ll be out later this year .
