It was Mogwai that got me into post - rock back when I was in college . I ’m still a big fan , but I sort of accrue away from post - rock’n’roll for a while . And I have God Is An Astronaut for bringing me back to the splendid congregation .
It ’s hard for me to single out just one God Is An Astronaut song to advocate because they are all so bloody well , but “ Echoes ” is as good a start out home as any . It has a typically meanderingly melodic sorting of subdued guitar noodling , interspersed with a wheel waves of crescendo . And then ultimately , it ends in a flaming awesome storm of screaming aberration . It ’s likeMogwaiplus65daysofstatic . Or something . The point is that it ’s damn skilful .
Mogwai : Yes ! I Am a Long Way From Home

If you want to try out another GIAA mess , this here timelapsewill do you veracious . But really if you piece up just about any record album and get it going , you ’ll have the perfect soundtrack for reading , penning , or whatever . So turn up the loudness and go rock out in that subtle post - rock sort of path . Nothing ’s better . [ Spotify , Amazon , iTunes ]
