I pretty much live in dresses. In fact, I wear pants so infrequently that my friends and family are shocked whenever I actually leave the house in anything but a dress. But as a fashion writer who happens to be short and curvy — I’m 4 feet 11 inches and three-quarters in flats — it can be a challenge to findpetite dresses that actually fit my frame, no hemming required. Consider me over the moon, then, since one such dress has made its mark on my spring wardrobe.

This dress is designed in a rayon and polyester blend that’s whisper soft and feels like silk. The tiered silhouette is flowy and forgiving for curvier bodies like mine, but fitted enough to not look like a burlap sack. The bodice has a subtle scoop neckline with a flat panel that isn’t too tight or restrictive across the chest, while the ruffled cap sleeves give it an elegant touch. It’s finished with a single loop-and-button keyhole detail at the back.
What I love most of all about this dress, though, is the length. Even though I have fairly long legs for my shorter body, it’s still quite the struggle for me to find mini dresses that are actually, well, mini. But this dress? It delivers. The tiered skirt hits right at my knees, so I can team it with a variety of lower shoe options like canvas sneakers and booties and still have plenty of leg showing.

In case you’re wondering whether this dress is available in a variety of colors and patterns, well, the answer is a resounding yes — a whopping 40, to be exact. They include navy, green, pink, black, and multiple vivid florals. It also comes in sizes S–XXL, which corresponds to numerical sizes 4–20. I own the light brown shade in XL, and it’s the perfect fit for my petite frame.
I’ve continued to pull this dress out of my closet for the past two spring seasons, and I’m definitely not stopping this year. It’s been my dress of choice during vacations to New York City, long days at Disneyland, and casual brunches with friends.
The dress has racked up over 7,000 five-star ratings on Amazon, many of which are from fellow petite shoppers, so I’m certainly not the only one lauding its excellence. One5-foot-1-inch shopperwho’s a 34D said it’s “easy and flowy,” while a5-foot-3-inches shopperloved it so much they’re ordering more colors and said it “looks and feels expensive.” Still more shorter shoppers said the dress “can be dressed up or down” and “falls just above [the] knee,” with someone else adding they “did not have to have it tailored.”
