Jason Momoais hoping the love for Aquaman doesn’t drown out.
“I love this character and [I would want to] play it for a long time,” the actor said in an interview withEntertainment Tonightahead of the DC film’s forthcoming sequelAquaman and the Lost Kingdom,which sees him reprise his titular superhero role five years after the original film.
“If the audience loves it, then there’s a possibility,” he also said of future installments. “But right now, I’m like, ‘It’s not looking too good.’ "
AsETnoted,James GunnandPeter Safranwere namedco-chairs and co-CEOs of DC Studioslast year. And as Momoa told the outlet, “If there’s a place in their world for me, I would love to be a part of it.”
“This is my home. Warner and DC is definitely my home,” he added.

Momoa also toldETthat he “kind of see(s) where” he’d want the Aquaman character “to go,” adding, “And even in the next 10 years or so, like there’s a lot of cool things they can do.”
“And I do enjoy the role and the world. So, I mean, it just comes down to if people love it,” noted theGame of Thronesalum.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdomfollows Momoa’s Arthur Curry, a.k.a. Aquaman, as Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) returns for another attempt at taking revenge on Atlantis.Patrick Wilsonreturns as Aquaman’s half-brother, who teams up with him in order to stop Black Manta.
“To defeat him, Aquaman will turn to his imprisoned brother Orm, the former King of Atlantis, to forge an unlikely alliance,” it adds. “Together, they must set aside their differences in order to protect their kingdom and save Aquaman’s family and the world from irreversible destruction.”
In a recent interview withE! News, Momoa opened up about how fans will get to see a new side of Arthur Curry in the upcoming film, as the character is now a husband and a father.
“It’s all things I never got to play in the last four films that I’ve done,” the actor said. “I’m like, ‘People need to see this side of him.’ "
“So that was my request, and I think people are going to really love it,” Momoa added.
