On Wednesday, Paramount released the highly-anticipated first trailer for the movie musical reimagining ofMean Girls.

Based on the 2004 film and subsequent2018 Broadway musical of the same name,Mean GirlsstarsAngourie Riceas Cady,Renée Rappas Regina (reprising her Broadway role),Auli’i Cravalhoas Janis, Jaquel Spivey as Damian, Anantika as Karen and Bebe Wood as Gretchen.

In February, Fey, 53, announced that she and Tim Meadows wouldstep back into their movie rolesas Ms. Norbury and Principal Duvall.

Additionally,The OfficealumnaJenna Fischeris playing Cady’s mother, andBusy Philippsis seen in the trailer as Mrs. George(who is not a regular mom, but a cool mom).Jon Hammalso makes an appearanceas Coach Carr.

In addition to Fey and Meadows, 62, reprising their respective roles as Ms. Norbury and Principal Duvall, there have been reports that the originalMean Girlscast, includingLindsay Lohan,Rachel McAdams,Amanda SeyfriedandLacey Chabertcould appear in the upcoming film.

Speaking withEntertainment Tonightin February, Seyfried, 37, noted that she and her former costars are"100% into" making a cameo.

“It’s been a long legacy forMean Girls, and I think we all kinda just need to hang,” she told the publication.

In the 2004 film, Lohan portrayed Cady, a student who had just moved from Africa and was now an outcast at her high school. It was there she was introduced to the seriousness of the social hierarchy as she met teen queen bees Karen Smith (Seyfried), Gretchen Wieners (Chabert), and their leader Regina George (McAdams) — the trio fiercely known as The Plastics.

Jaquel Spivey plays Damian, Angourie Rice plays Cady and Auli’i Cravalho plays Janis in Mean Girls from Paramount Pictures.

The newMean Girlsis in theaters Jan. 12.
