Prince Harry designed the ring with the help ofCleave & Company(the lateQueen Elizabeth’s regular jeweler). The custom piece features a large cushion-cut center diamond sourced from Botswana — where Meghan and Harry spent time together early on in their relationship — as well as two side stones from the latePrincess Diana’s jewelry collection.

“It’s beautiful, and he designed it, it’s incredible,” the Duchess of Sussex said during thecouple’s engagement interviewin November 2017.
Since getting engaged, Meghan has given the ring a few upgrades as well. In 2019, she replaced the ring’s original gold band with a thin micro-pavé band.

She also stacked on aneternity ringthat she began wearing in 2019. The addition to Meghan’s jewelry collection made its first public outing at Trooping the Colour that year, and it was likely to mark a special occasion. Eternity rings are traditionally gifted following a milestone event, like the birth of a child or a wedding anniversary, and are typically covered in diamonds in an infinite loop around the band. In the weeks before its debut, Meghan and Prince Harry celebrated both theirfirst wedding anniversaryand the birth of their first child, son Prince Archie Harrison.
For Wednesday’s outing, Meghan also accessorized with a pinky ring, a gold bracelet and a watch, complementing her white-and-black shorts and blazer ensemble. She completed her look with Chanel ballet flats.

“It is so special to be here, and I’m so sorry that I was a little late for the party,” Meghan said onstage at the Family & Friends event on Tuesday, before revealing that the couple’s kidsPrince Archie, 4, andPrincess Lilibet, 2, were partly responsible for the delay.
“Just like so many of you, we know this is about family and friends and the community that Invictus has created, that Fischer House has created, and so I had to just spend a little bit more time getting our little ones settled home,” the Duchess of Sussex said. “Getting milkshakes, doing school drop off and then I just landed a couple of hours ago. I am thrilled that the first event that I can do with Invictus is here with all of you.”
