In September 2020, the Oscar-winning actress shared a cheekyphotographof herself on Instagram, where she donned a black T-shirt bearing the logo of her singer beau along with an olive-colored pageboy cap.
“now ya know… ♥️🦶🏽,” Berry wrote in the caption, which included a foot emoji, referencing anearlier Instagram postshe shared in July of her feet playing footsie with an unknown man.
Like Berry, Hunt also has a career in the entertainment industry. He is a Grammy award-winning recording artist who has released five albums beginning with his self-titled debut album in 2004.

He has been a lifelong musician

Hunt began playing musical instruments when he was just a kid, first picking up the drums at age 7. According toPage Six, his father was friends with Ohio Players drummer Jimmy “Diamond” Williams.
He then learned to play the saxophone and keyboard, and much later, the guitar, which the outlet reported was the last instrument he learned to play.
He has won a Grammy
He was also nominated for a Grammy in 2006 for urban/alternative performance for his song “Dust,” however, Hunt did not win.

Early in his career, Hunt found a strong supporter in musician and producerRandy Jackson, who rose to nationwide fame as a judge on the reality competition showAmerican Idolfrom 2002 to 2013. Jackson managed Hunt early in his career.
In a 2012 interview withWindy City Times, Hunt admitted that he never watched his manager onAmerican Idol. “I don’t watchAmerican Idol,” he said. “I don’t even need to. I can just have dinner with him and have a good conversation that way.”
He is a dad
The singer-songwriter has one teenage son. He mainly keeps his personal life private and away from social media. However, he does post a bit about his son from time to time, including one post from last December, where he showed off a Christmas gift his son gave to him.
“From the yung hitta, w love,” Hunt captioned a now-deleted Instagram post of a “Best Dad Ever” mug.
In a 2011 interview, Hunt said he loves being a father to his son, sharing, “It is a lot of fun! I can’t imagine anybody not wanting to explore the opportunity to be a father, if you should decide to have a child.”
He attended Morehouse College
Hunt attended Morehouse College and majored in English, but he left the school before finishing his degree.
He toldEssencethat if he didn’t make it in music, he would be doing something in “applied mathematics or astrophysics” and admitted that he was a “terrible student.”
He has the approval of Berry’s fans and one of her close friends

Berry blamed Ellen DeGeneres for not introducing her to him sooner
When Berry appeared on the Feb. 3, 2022, episode ofTheEllen DeGeneresShow, DeGeneres revealed that Hunt performed on the first season ofher show in 2004 before Berry appeared on an episode later that season.
“We’ve talked about this, he and I, and actually a few days ago, when I knew I was coming here,“Berry told DeGeneres. “I said, ‘You know, I was on her first season,’ and he goes, ‘So was I,’ and I said, ‘You mean you could’ve found me 20 years and saved me all this misery I’ve been through?'”
Berry joked that DeGeneres “would’ve saved [her] three marriages” if she had them on the same episode.
He and Berry pulled off a marriage prank
However, the next day Berryposted another photoof the two on Instagram with a caption explaining that they “were just having some New Year’s Day fun” and had not gotten married. She also wrote, “thank you for the well wishes, tho’, it really touched our hearts! Now it’s OFFICIAL, the internet is no longer undefeated.”

Berry was honoredwith the Career Achievement Award at the 4th Annual Celebration of Black Cinema & Television in 2021, and during her acceptance speech, she praised Hunt.
“You know I finally found love this year, everybody,” Berry said. “Even though you all have been on this painful journey with me. You watched me fail and fail and fail. And besides directing my first movie, I also found the love of my life, and I know it’s true, and this is how I know it’s true.”
She continued, “Because you fail so many, you know what wrong looks like. Because I failed so many times, I now know what [love] really looks like. And so my partner is here tonight, Van, and you have supported me.”
He says that Berry has inspired his new music

Hunt released his last single in 2015, several years before he started dating Berry. However, the musician toldEntertainment Tonighton March 29, 2021, that she inspired him to create new music.
Regarding their relationship, Hunt said, “I could show you rather than I could tell you, and I will show you really soon, I promise,” he said, teasing new music.
